Ongoing - Studying the effectiveness of Qigong as an intervention with various populations. Working with Temple University, College of Public Health, School of Social Work.
2024-09-13
I have been working with the Temple University, College of Public Health, School of Social Work on a 5 year grant to study the effectiveness of qigong to improve the leg strength, balance, and quality of life of intellectually delayed adults. The School of Social Work did not get the grant this year. Instead, they have asked me to work with them on two pilot studies of a qigong intervention with intellectually delayed adults; one in the fall, one in the spring. The research group plans to re-apply for the grant next year. I'll keep you posted.

A Pragmatic Trial of Qigong Exercises on Fibromyalgia Symptoms Compared to Aerobic Exercise
I am working with Dr. Wen Liu, Director of the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory, The Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Training, School of Health Professionals of the University of Kansas Medical Center. I am part of his Community Advisory Committee. His research team is submitting a research proposal for a 5 year research grant. The study title is ‘A Pragmatic Trial of Qigong Exercises on Fibromyalgia Symptoms Compared to Aerobic Exercise.’ The study will use three study sites: the University of Kansas Medical Center, the Arizona State University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Past event: 2017 Symposium on Integrative Health, Tai Chi, & Qigong in Harvey Cedars New Jersey
In 2017, I lead a sunrise qigong session on the beach at the Maris Stella Retreat Center at Harvey Cedars N.J. Wonderful morning energy!
